An expletive-deleted "noob" quest
This quest is driving me crazy. It's called "fallen soldiers", and I acquired it at lvl 10. According to guildwiki, it's "easy". Well I have news for guildwiki... something about that quest has changed since that poster posted that opinion.
I complained to a lvl 20 in my guild and he said he couldn't even complete that quest... The reason is that at the end when you're supposed to go collect whatever it is they tell you to get from the fallen soldiers, there are about 20 charr all gathered close together, and no way to pull just 2 or 3 away from the group. And many of them also self heal....Suffice it to say it has been an act in futility trying to kill them. Any thoughts, hints, whatever, or do I just drop it? I suppose I could try to get a few lvl 20s to help me. But before i go there, maybe someone has a brilliant idea about this one? |

One word...elementalist (lvl 20)! All they have to do is use one Rodgort's Invocation and bam most of their health is gone. Followed that with another AoE spell and they'r buh bye lol.

I completed this quest just the other day on a lvl 9 warrior, with noob equipment at that. I died the first try though because i wasn't ready and just ran in, lol, but i came back the second time from the other side of the bridge and lured them back in small groups. Unless something changed in this last update, it shouldnt be that hard.

Charr?!?
I farmed them with Phoenix - Inferno - Flame Burst outside Piken Square. About 20 there too. And I was only level 15, and without a Rune of Major Vigor too! (But yes, I only aggroed about 5 at a time ) If I see you in-game, I'll try to help you. |

I've done this. Its still not that hard. It is possible to pull small groups of them. Use a longbow. Be patient. If you die, try again.
The reason these quests are there is to teach you about game mechanics, not just learn to power through quests with the help of level 20s. |

there are different directions to get to that area. if you come from the lowlands direction it is easier to kill a few and run heal than repeat. if despapate just concentrate the partys fire on one target to kill it before dying yourself, run back and kiull another rince and repeat. even a 60 DP party can kill a single target before being killed, and since i did it recently it has not changed. |

Hm, well i'm not soloing, but my party is lvl 6's. I tried from multiple directions, up, down, around... The first time I tried it they were more spread out, and I thought it might be possible to do it. When I went back a few hours later, they were all squeezed close together - and there were twice as many as from my earlier try. So what is this changeability about? Do I go away and come back later, hoping there are half as many again? I'm not sure I could have pulled any off the second time I was logged on. They were in an arrangement that was different, many more, and much closer than the previous time...
I find this a little confusing. I mean, ya, maybe it was EASIER for someone who had a different arrangement/number of mobs, cause I've seen it change dramatically with my own eyes, but what the heck is that about? I waited for them to move when there were so many the last time, but none of them budged an inch. I just did the quest now (with the help offered above) and there were less than half as many there as the last time I tried, and they were more spread out. SO???? WHat up? |

But that's a good suggestion about pulling with a bow. I will try that next time I DON'T get help from a bunch of lvl 20's LOL.

I had an easy time of it with henchies when I did it...
And later, I came solo with a R/Rt splinter barrage build and owned them in a few seconds... not hard at all. |
